Health-resert Oybin Station

The terminal station Oybin (391 meters above sea level) has had the additional term 'health-resert' since 1905. From the beginning this station has been a very important task. In the station building were 'quarters' integrated an in the time from 1892 to 1900 you found here a post office. In 1907 there was the first extension of the tracks and by 1913 the number of the tracks amounted to 11; and simultaneously the double track completion was realized. Most of the tracks were used for goods traffic. The installation of the signal box was 1915, which can be seen in the museum (previous goods shed). The years 1956 and 1963 were marked by a drastic reduction of the tracks, and the line to Oybin was a single-track line again. Today you find only the platform track (No 1), the engine line (no 3) and track (No 5) at the goods shed. It was reconstructed by the club in 1998. It is need for the presentation of vehicles of the museum. More information you find in our broschur No 8.
